Especially considering the said "one thing" (sodomy) doesn't even begin to resemble the true (biological) nature of "another thing" (vaginal penetration)--Not even in the face of common terminology (even though it's labeled as a "sexual" act, "anal sex" is a flawed phrase in lieu of the act's non-sexual nature).

It's only non-sexual in that it's non-procreative. But then that means that fellatio and cunninlingus are non-sexual. Kissing is non-sexual. Masturbation, solo or mutual, is non-sexual. Does this mean you plan to, one day at some time in the who-knows-when future, not engage in any of these other acts, too, because they are non-sexual?

But anal intercourse is sexual in that it...

-involves a penis, which is an organ of sex (when erect)
-involves what "giver" and "taker" perceive as sexual pleasure
-can be as much an act of love as penis-in-vagina sex
