Answer: Less than twenty-four hours after he cleared waivers, Nomo was signed to a minor league deal. I suppose, in some way, this makes sense. The Yankees are desperate for starting pitching and probably won't do much of anything by the non-waiver trade deadline. Nomo has major league experience and can handle the pressure of playing in tough situations, like in LA, Boston, and now New York. Maybe this is the best thing for both teams.
