On Saturday night, when we discovered that Manny had been pulled in the last minute, me and my friends went ape-shit believing that he'd been traded. When Terry Francona had his post-game press conference, we were certain - his story didn't REMOTELY match up with what we knew were facts! But then we noticed that both Cameron and Huff had played for their teams. And we read about the problems with the deal. By Sunday, we were too engrossed with Jon Papelbon's solid spot-start to care. I'm glad Manny didn't get traded. I would've been fine if he had, provided we got value for him, but I'm happier we didn't.

The lack of moves at the trade deadline didn't surprise me. With so many teams still looking at some form of contention, nothing huge will be done until August anyways. I was positive that Soriano was gonna go, though I couldn't figure out to whom. Yankees? Soriano doesn't want to switch postitions (and I thought they'd get Juan Pierre, if anyone). Twins? Not with their payroll.
