Sad but true.......I need to study and what am I doing? Wasting times and procrastinating on the rkmbs AGAIN!

Gotta love the snow days.........
So I studied a lot yesterday....heh something I NEED to do today (last minute review before tomorrow) and school was cancelled because of bad weather yesterday. WOOHOO!!!!!!!! No seventh period, sleeping in, having today off two. Man, I love teaching ;p
After dragging myself to the gym (cuz I figured Nat might make something fried again) I journied over to Denton for the official meeting of the math nerds. Her house was totally all Christmasied up and I felt guilty.....I mean we both teach and mine doesn't even have a tree up. Last year this time I had lights up/christmas stuff up/everything looked amazing....
Anyway, Rachel shows up and I greet her at the door. "OH MY GOSH, Ashley look at how thin you are....we are SO going to have to fatten you up tonight." Smiling evily she pours me a coke (caffine is SUCH a weakness of mine) and offers me a brownie......grrrrrrr! So about an hour later all the sugar rushes towards me and I start laughing when Rachel reads out the math and science competencies. "They should SO allow us, teachers, to come up with our own competancies," I suggested.
"HAHAHA I have one. Right before sixth and seventh period the teacher should be able to take a few long drinks from her silver flask." I started laughing so hard I almost caughed up my sweetened ice-tea (weakness number two ;p). Then the phone rang, and I glanced at Rachel. "One, TWO, THREE....."
*using deep voices* "Oh Natalie........come on back over to the sofa, the fires so warm." Laughing and giggling uncontrollably, Natalie glances at us, "NO Aunt Lora we are NOT drinking........" I laughed so hard I fell outta my chair, "Whats the probability that Ashley would act this goofy and it just be sugar?" I started laughing again.........it was so hard trying to stop cuz they kept egging it on, "Hey Ashley...this is your appetite speaking take another brownie.....you need more sugar."
HAHAHHA yeah...........sugar and me are not a good thing in excessive combinations ;p It's okay though.....I worked my butt off at the gym today and am down to 125 *yeahs*. Ten more pounds and I'll be where I was when I graduated high school!
That said.....I must return to my math study guides and pray that God will show me great mercy tomorrow and that for the first time in a long time, I'll breeze through a state comprehensive test...........

My sister gave me a shirt of hers.......cant believe it fit ;p  Signs I need a new camera phone.......and hold the thing still......  Yes my hair is frizzy.......but I can't look that hot when I had a state exam this morning *more on that later*........  Two were black and white cuz the coloring was off.....grrrrrrr: see below  And no more boobie picks dang it......this is as tight or low as i go ;p

Post about the test (yes its long and no you don't have to read it if you dont want to!):

After tossing and turning all night (kept having nightmares of showing up late for the exam), my alarm goes off at 5:20 am and I drag myself outta bed, shower, get dressed, and thank the Lord for the Starbucks down the street. Finally arriving at the school, I barely have time to get my backpack together when Marcus drives up beside me.
Rolling his window down he's like, "Hey, girl....don't I know you from like the AC program?!?" Jumping outta his car and into mine he's all, "I took three days off to study" and we swapped horror stories of problems we still didn't get and he called another intern friend of ours. We started laughing talking about all the prayers we said ahead of time/what we'll do during the test, etc. Finally, he looks at me and says, "you ready ash...." Smiling, I get outta my car and lock it and we head inside to the massive auditorium at seven am (which was a good thing because I got a sweet parking spot as a result of it). We find a spot down in front and like truth math people who freak out before a state exam that determines the course of your future, we reviewed some more from the THREE practice tests we had: not even similar ones.
Finally, we are dismissed to the rooms by seat number (Marcus hugs me goodbye and gulps) "this is it ash.....wish me luck!". Getting to my room on the second floor, I notice it's an old Latin room.....heh (got the latin award in high school: I LOVED that class.....it was awesome). I was like smiling, "ITS A SIGN" I thought to myself. Going over the "thou shalt not have thy cell phone or any electronic device on" again or your scores will be voided crap, she FINALLY registers us/hands out the crappy scientific calculators along with the test.
Given permission to start, I take a deep breathe, pray for mercy and open the test. The first twenty or so weren't that bad: basic given a graph representation of a problem/figure out the rule or whatever. Heh.........then the nightmare began. They didn't ask normal stats or proportion related questions: it was all warped i.e. a guy looks at an inverted image of himself, find the proportion that accurately describes the inverted image, not to mention inequalities. INEQUALITIES: three practice tests and NO mention of them. Wanna know what I spent the whole three weeks studying? Geometry...it had ONE geometry construction problem, thats it! No other problems from the practice test either.
The test also had some really weird graph problems. Some weird cartesian graph and ask what it represents: circumference of a circle to its diameter, volume of a sphere to its radius, etc. I was never the best of those......
BUT WAIT......I had like three places where an answer repeated for three rows and i was like, 'oh my gosh, the patterns warped" so I doubled checked them and changed like two answers.........The hardest one was the second to last.......I listed all the numbers out from 1-100 and still couldn't see that much of a pattern....grrrrrr!
So, before turning in the test I tallied up the ones I was unsure about along with the estimated 1.1 points off for each problem. There were 17*1.1=18.7-90=71.3. Yeah really comforting considering we need like an 84 to pass..........what a waste of time. Seriously....I coulda just done nothing and gotten the same score....total frustration.
After turning my test in (yeah the thou shalt raise thy hand before thy get up), they wouldn't let us leave the way we came in. Thus, I had to hike around the entire HUGE MacArthur High School. On my journey I hear this strange, familiar voice, "OH MY GOSH ASHLEY!!!!!!!!! Don't I know you?" Hugging me, Jonathan M. was like, "it was so easy." I almost slapped him: EASY!!!!! Far from it: I took the math 4-8 and was ticked off at how the test went and he took the 8-12.....grrr! I shoulda taken that: probably would have aced the harder stuff. It's always the easy things that give me trouble. After finding out about his baby/new house/school, I was left feeling frustrated. Was I the only one who was going to email our specialist saying, "WHY DIDNT YOU WARN US: tell us to review old TAKS questions from like high school or whatever." Woulda been an awesome way to review....grrrrrrrs!

Hey....I do now that I'm on vacation :P
It's Monday.....soo much to do! Make brownies, go to gym, figure out what to wear to a girl party tonight (heh.....that's gonna be fun ;p), um....what else?!? Another christmas party thing tomorrow.....
Anyway, it was so nice sleeping in till noon though, OH MY GOSH! Wow.........its nice when life is truly awesome!

Anyway, OH my gosh! It was amazing, pretty identical to the book 'cept for a few parts like the stream thing they added. And Liam Neeson as the voice of the lion, I kept waiting for Obi Won to jump out of the shadows with his light saber ;p Aslan was supposed to be HUGE/MAGESTIC/Christ like....and he was kinda small and wimpering sounding, I mean COME ON! The rawring was good but he's supposed to be the governor of the universe! The witch wasn't very hot or seductive looking either (always pictured her that way in my mind as a kid reading the book!). I didn't like the way it started either....SOOOO unlike the book!
And last gripe! Aslan didnt just LEAVE Lucy, she told him goodbye in the book. I didn't like the whole "God leaves and comes back when he wants to" garbabe from the movie either......grrrr: untheologically sound.
Hrm...other than that, the movie rocked! I really liked how they put Thomas and Edmond together and did the whole betrayl/traitor thing (really sweet touch). And at least they had the lion's death and resurrection *yeahs*, thought if it was Disney they might take it out, and the battle scenes were pretty sweet (never thought of the witch as fighting Peter so that was a nice touch). It really was beautifully done: everything was exactly the way I had imagined it pretty much as a kid. I really liked the ending, when Lucy was told, "You can never go back the way that you went in" which lead the movie wide open to the sequel *yeahs*!!!!
Oh yeah, and I loved the casting of kids! Beautifully done. Anyway better go, before the lunch burns on the stove! Bye everybody! Have a great day

Shutup.......I told him hi this morning   Anyway........tonight turned out weird! Taking a shower is usually one of the highlights of my life after gym (getting all the sweat off and just relaxing against the soft, warm water) until I look down and notice blood. Yeah.......from my foot? It didn't even hurt but as soon as I got out of the tub blood started draining everywhere. I spent close to an hour trying to get the blood to stop (total pain in the butt....I highly recommend not accidentally cutting your foot right after gym!). Turns out blow dryers/neosporin works every time....even though it hurts but it hardens the scab. Hrm....my blood musta been thin for some reason?!? Still don't know how I cut it and its a deep cut too.....anyway I only had like twenty minutes to get ready to go to the party (since Lindsey lived like out in the boondocks!). **Did I mention how hard it is to blow dry your hair while your foot is elevated at a weird angle.....so hard :P** Limping up the driveway, I made it looking somewhat cute (in picture above....not that great a picture, I know, but best I could do round midnight ;p) The party ended up being somewhat fun but consdering most of the girls are engaged/married/pregnant you can guess what the conversation was about: "oh my gosh......I dont know what I'm gonna name my baby, etc. etc". Childbirth and marriage are the furthest things from my mind this time of year: more along the lines of, "is it may yet?!?" Best part came after the party, on the way home when Amy called me!!!! Amy was my bestest friend in high school (color guard captain aka study buddy aka happy song girl. Yes....we were so bubbly and super hyper in school we came up with our very own happy song in the middle of Trig one day ;P). Anyway, she wants to get together in a few days and hang out! That is going to be SO much fun! Yeahs....I'm highly looking forward to it! Anyway, I'm going to take my sore foot and journey on towards the bed (don't know how I'm going to run on it tomorrow but I will find a way....grrrrs!). Yeah this is the most pointless post ever but I felt like griping ;p Here's hoping all of your feet are happy, safe and well!!!

Guys are jerks.....ok take that back, not ALL guys, there are a few nice ones out there: you know who you are!
Case in point: I have a friend we'll call...Adam. Adam was a guy I went to school with that's really cool! We studied together/hung out/laughed a lot but that's it we were only friends (he knew this too btw) till yseterday........
So we hung out and had dinner at Rockfish....oh my gosh, yummiest place ever! Walking through Dallas reminsicing was pretty fun and then we went back to his apartment (keep in mind I've been there before and we chilled/played checkers/watched movies) all purely nonsexual. Keep in mind also, I wasn't dressed sexually or anything that would signal or even flirted to hint the message that "hey, i'm into you....try something!"
Ya'll know where I'm going with this... SO we get there, I pick out a movie (GO Count of Monte Cristo......really favorite movie of mine) and I jump into the couch and collapse. Instead of sitting on the other couch like he always did before, he sits next to me and I'm thinking, "ok.......I don't like where this is going but alright.." Within seconds he's trying to cuddle me/get in my face/put his hands all over me and I'm trying to figure out how I sent out the signal I was into him? Grrrrrrrr.........
Anyway, getting up and grabbing my coat, Adam's like, "where are you going?" Yeah....where was I going?!? Hrm....going out with a friend and him trying to slobber/cuddle/talk me into staying over at his place out of nowhere like that just sucks. Epecially when you take into effect he was such a great friend before all this crap.
Arriving home, I contemplate maybe it's just the holiday season and guys are just horny this time of year?!? I dont know.....really strange behavior for a guy that's been a semi good friend of mine for a while......
Any thoughts? Other than that.....yesterday was a good day! I went running (broke a record for myself!), my foots not that sore at all today, and a really nice guy sent me tons of presents which I'm still in shock about. I just don't get all the attention I've been getting lately! It's not like I'm hot or gorgeous or whatever....maybe it's that I'm just single....who knows! Anyway, I'm off to bury myself into my book and then go to a Bible Study thing tonight....work starts tomorrow (last minute shopping and I've got to start grading!).
And to the ladies out there that read this, Victoria Secret is having this perfume/gel/lotion sell....oh my gosh! Ya'll have got to go! Super cheap too.......and the scents last! I swear I can still smell the lotion on myself today!

Today was TOTALLY suprisingly fun! So my sister and I have not always been the closest of friends but she came home last night and we stayed up FOREVER talking about boys, church, etc. Biggest thing I learned from her is that you don't have to give a guy anything in return for what he gets you i.e. Adam thinking I owed him 'later' for dinner or whatever. Total breakthrough: don't ask me why! I do have morals and wont go past a certain point but the whole idea that I don't owe anybody anything is totally cool! So inspired was I, that I cleaned up my entire house (yes!) for the first time in ages and its all sparkly! Yeahs.......... SO after shopping for my mom today, my sis and I came home and wrapped the last of our gifts while swapping stories i.e. more talk about 'back in the day': "Remember Nikki Rushing and his gorgeous blue-green eyes?" It was so fun! Then my mom and dad came home and we unwrapped some presents early 'cuz my sis has to spend Christmas with her boyfriend's parents (I personally think she's going to marry or at least get engaged to the guy in a year!). Thinking Ragsy and I would turn into a cute picture, my sis took this one of us (and yes, it's in the 70s in Texas around Christmas time...):  It was alright..............couldnt believe I could wear the green shirt (my sister and I are now the same size: 7/8..........yeah!). Then our family went out to the Christmas Eve service at my church. It was one of those rare family moments we were all getting along/laughing with each other. We even continued in the family tradition of driving through our old neighborhood looking and laughing at Christmas lights. Every year, my dad tries to find the house that looks way too gaudy or thrown together. His commentary is SO funny when it comes to making fun of people's lights (and of course he saves his best comments for my house when I have them up i.e. NOT this year ;p). After eating together and hugging my sister goodbye, we sat around reminiscing about Christmas' long ago. It was really cool and family like.....I was surprised So all that worrying for nothing.....Christmas Eve turned out pretty kickinly fun! Anyway, since I dont feel too good (throats sore, massive sinus headache, and a fever) I'm going to head off to bed....my mom donated sleeping pills till I can get to the doctor on Monday. It just stinks to feel sick 'round Christmas, ya know?!? Merry Christmas you guys!
