I feel sick....can't stop sneezing/coughing/blowing my nose and the doctor's office is closed until tomorrow.....NOOOOO! And I'm supposed to hook up with an old high school friend tomorrow night *sneezes again*. Darn it......I need a cortizone shot or a boyfriend for a doctor :P

And, to be fair, one of my favorite friends there is blind and I take every opportunity available to make fun of that and we're still friends. That guy never fit there. He never got the spirit of the RKMBs. We're gonna keep an eye on the obits, see if he finally left or if he really did have a heart attack.

So....FINALLY making it to the doctor, he gave me a Cortizone shot *yeahs* which means I finally have my girly voice back. It's crazy though, cuz the shot keeps your pulse racing for bout three hours and after that you feel dead tired....like exhausted (course it could be the fact I didn't sleep much last night....three hours maybe!)....
That being the case, I think I will take a bath and collapse into bed early tonight and begin grading tomorrow....yuck.
I did get to see an old friend from high school. THAT was crazily fun! She's even more super outgoing and happy than I am....totally fun! We both griped about everybody getting married, our high school reunion being a year away, and shared crazy dating stories....it was amazing! Almost like we were both back in high school, on the color guard chatting back and forth after practice. Anyway, I need to go before I fall asleep on my computer....night you guys!

Oh the sweetness So today, I tutored Nastia again for Pre-Cal and boy did I find out some fun stuff. Remember all the crap about me getting written up last year by a parent (i.e. probably not b/c you all have lives but anyway ;p)? hah....turns out THAT parent had been embezzling money from the school and got caught ON TAPE! So the precious, beloved parent that everybody jumped to please almost shut down the entire school (leaving it in financial distress!). Turns out, five other teachers left the school last year as well (which I didn't know about!). I miss kids though......I showed up at gym and they all freaked out! "OH MY GOSH!!!!!!YOU'VE LOST WEIGHT!!!!" and then like ten girls run up and hug me. It's great to be loved and respected for a brief moment in time (before public school starts back up on Tuesday!). Anyways.....I'm going to enjoy this moment and go sleep (had to tutor at 10 am today.....*yawns*) and then go running. Total sweetness......gotta love it when vengeance comes around

Just got back my official state math scores and I PASSED!!!!!! Score....I am now certified to teach math. Just have one more state exam for PPR (the other state test I have to take and pass to become certfied). The math content was the one I was worried about.......YES!

Anyway.....I got back my kids state math scores! Percentages below are the percentages of kids who passed the statewide final. HAHAHA....even seventh period had a freakin 83% passing rate. SEVENTH PERIOD! My class from hell who only wants to talk about me/who's ADD/NEVER pays attention. I know they didn't cheat either cuz I watched them like a hawk I still don't understand how kids that have a 50 in my class got an 84....'cept the other teachers I talked to said, "yeah baby. Smart kids they just don't do work for us either." Hah....summon the heroes I can teach.....YES!
Breakdown for those of you that care by class period (tries hard not to gloat):
1) 78% passing rate
2) 67% passing rate
3) 76% passing rate
5) 60 % passing rate
6) 64% passing rate
7) 83% passing rate

***WARNING: THE FOLLOWING POSTS RELATE TO EDUCATION. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK OF BOREDOM!!!****
SO today was totally fun and not just 'cuz it was Friday. I went to bed super early last night (collapsed on my couch at six and didn't wake up until 5 this morning!) so I made it to school in time to get this killer lesson together: i.e. showed the kids picture of downtown Dallas and had 'em pick out rectangular prisms to see if they knew what they were. Then I had a box that was cut into flat pattern and had the kids figure out what it would look like if it were folded (had the two worst kids hold the huge box up and the rest of class estimate the surface area, etc), passed around a cube and an rp and had them describe the similarities/differences, AND lastly they worked in groups and each kid had to come up with a different r.prism flat pattern, calculate the surface area, cut it out, and fold it up correctly. It was a TOTAL blast!
Anyway, during lunch I went to go bug Ray again (he makes me laugh) since he's the teacher monitor during lunch. I saw a teacher pull this kid by the collar who was like, "HEY MISTER, I have B Lunch not A lunch", I was laughing so hard I was almost crying as this kid protested all the way down the hallway.
"dont you have a mute button kid?" I said laughing.
"Hey miss, I have b lunch not A lunch.." Trying to appeal to the woman in the bunch. Bout this time, the principal shows up and escorts the kid to lunch.
Right after that another kid shows up with a sob story to talk Ray into letting him go this locker to which the teacher responds, "Not my problem." I burst out laughing.....awesomest line EVER! I used it in fifth period when I gave a quiz (they could use the notes yesterday) and they didn't show up with them.....it was beautiful!
And I ended up writing two kids up today! This girl was causing problems (got out of her seat four times, threw stuff across the room, and was talking loudly.). I told her there's the door, if she can't do what's expected of her she can leave. Then I wrote her ass up.........it was beautiful!
Then sixth period I had a kid smash a cube (yes the cube I spent bout ten minutes building that morning) against another kids head) so I had her thrown out! It was SO much fun.........kid got suspended. Now if they'd just send her off to alternative school! One of my other kids got suspended by another teacher for shoving him......on the downside: alternative school kids are coming back(yucks!).
And the day got even better when I ended up only having seventh period for like 45 minutes 'cuz we passed out report cards today! After that, a kid stayed and help me count books so I could turn in all 300 by Sunday and I even got grading done! In the midst of all, Matt called and we're hooking up tomorrow night (two of my oldest, bestest guy friends from high school are going to hang out with me. I can FINALLY enjoy my weekend and not worry bout school stuff until Monday night! yes..........).
Now if Wiley would just leave me alone..........I swear somebody told him I liked him again b/c all of a sudden he keeps hanging out in my room, GRRRRRRS! I don't even flirt/look/spend time with the guy. He just came and sat in my room for an hour this afternoon: I didnt even TALK to the kid......I swear!
Anyway, I'm off to go running (think I bruised my foot somehow.....it sure hurts) but I really, really wanna stay in shape since I havent been eating the best of food this week.
So first week of school turned out alright.......Monday will be the challenge when I get observed by the math superintendant.....hah.......scary!

My thread got moved darn it!!!!!!!
Last night totally rocked......hooking up with two old guy friends from high school was awesome! They treated me to dinner which was really nice....I'm not going to complain about hanging out with two attractive, funny guys till four am :P
Anyway after eating at a Tex-Mex place and catching up about everybody we knew back in band (and no there were no band camp stories), we HAD to go to a pet store to see if Kay could find a parrot which turned out to be wayyy expensive but then Matt found a duck for his dog and started squeaking it incessantly. Definitely something I couldnt take! He was giving me the, "whatcha gonna do about it glare" so I jumped on him and ripped it out of his hand. "When you can behave I'll give it back." I laughed so hard I almost cried at his facial expressionl. He pouted, OH MY GOSH!!!!!! He even named it Dizzy the duck....HAHAHA this coming from a guy getting his MS in EE who works for the airline industry invetigating GPS units. SO funny!
Kay and I look at each other and are like, "BOOK STORE!!!!!" We've always LOOOVED books even back in high school. Promising to buy Matt a Frappacinno we walk down the street to Barnes and Noble where he immediately heads towards the Sex section. So much for not reading books :P
Anyway, I'll post more about our night out after some sleep but here are two new pictures taken while I was waiting on the boys last night (yes.............its wrong when the boys show up late...even though it was only ten minutes ;p!):
Side Note: Plus side..........I now have a workout partner who's going to "train me". We start tomorrow........yucks ;p I'm gonna upgrade my membership though......found this killer gym fifteen minutes from my house that has a pool, sauna, racketball court, sixty cardio machines, free weight room, and a machine room, and like an overhead track thingy. Its awesome.....and I'm sore....and I need sleep so night guys!
