Tempest was the shiznit. But, my all-time fave arcade game had to be Centipede. It was the first video game I got really good at. It got to the point where people would see me put my quarter up and they would just leave cuz they knew I'd be on the game for at least an hour. My high score was something like 800,000. Thank Gob for Arcade groupies. That game used to get me all kinds of pussy:
"Yeah, I'll put your initials up for high score if you give me your phone number..."
I can still get at least 2 or 3 hundred k on that game...
I also liked Frogger, Battlezone and Gorf.
Could any of you guys play Defender? That was a cool game but, I could never get the hang of making the ship go in reverse...
