It would be an interesting position for the Packers to get the #1 and have Leinart waiting for them. Or Reggie Bush. Frankly, they could use both guys. NFL coaches are notoriously egotistical, and I doubt that Mike Sherman's any different. A selection of Leinart can be viewed as them having wasted their #1 in '05 on Rodgers. A selection of Reggie Bush does not bring the same kind of criticism. Thus, I think the Packers are more likely to take Bush than Leinart. I add as further support the very real possibility that Bret Favre does not retire after this year. I cannot imagine the competitor that Bret is wanting his last season in the NFL to be the current one. His Hall of Fame status will not be damaged by an awful 2005, but I still can't see Bret choosing to leave and having 2005 in the history books as his last year. I believe John Madden on Monday night said that he can't imagine Favre letting this season stand as his last.

I say Favre does come back and if they end up with the #1, they take Bush. Or someone other than Leinart.
