N.Y. Post: The sky may be falling on "Chicken Little," but so are the dollars — millions and millions of them.
The first computer-animated movie produced by Disney without the help of Pixar exceeded industry expectations by pulling in $40.1 million in its first three days of release in North America.
The family flick proved Disney, known for hand-drawn fare like "Bambi," can go it alone in computer animation. Since 1995, it had worked with Pixar on blockbusters such as "Toy Story" and "Finding Nemo."
"Chicken Little," based on the classic tale of a nervous fowl who thinks the sky is falling, is Disney's second-best animated opening ever, following "The Lion King," which debuted with $40.9 million.
"This is right on the money in terms of animated openings," said Paul Dergarabedian, president of film tracker Exhibitor Relations. Did any one see it?

Dinosaur was such a flop that Disney is playing little categoration games so they can pretend that Chicken Little is their first in-house cgi movie. They say that Dinosaur isn't cgi because it used live backgrounds.

Then I guess it is a good thing that Chicken Little opened at Number One. Otherwise, they'd have to find a way to discount it when the next movie comes out.

I thought it was an okay movie. Some funny scenes with the closet-gay pig, but overall the movie didn't feel meaty enough. My girlfriend really liked it, but thought Corpse Bride is much funnier.
