I wasn't too terribly impressed with issue 4. Granted, I know they're building up to the final showdown in issue 5, but I can't help but think that there should've been more done.
I did, however, think it was really cool when Black Panther threw Wasp's head at one of the Acolytes!

This reminds me of a Denny's rant. We're adults now Chewy. Adults act a certain way in public. You are still acting like a kid.

I read it now. Holy shit they're going to eat Galactus!!
There's only one more issue left but it seems like they still have a couple of stuff going on in there(the zombies trying to eat galactus and the survivors and panther trying to survive/find a cure)I'm wonder how they're going to wrap that up.

Read the last issue today. Meh. I realized that this is an alternate universe, but it is so alternate, whenever convenient to the plot, that it ruined the central conceit, to wit, "what if the Marvel heroes were zombies." Case in point: In the last issue, they eat Galactus, with shots of the zombie heroes digging big pieces of Galactus organs out of his body with their bare hands. However, it has been [url=http://marvelite.prohosting.com/surfer/galactus/profile.html#PHYSICAL%20DESCRIPTION established[/url] in the past that the human-looking Galactus that we see is simply our minds' representation of an inhuman entity. Galactus isn't flesh and blood, so there was no flesh and blood for the zombies to eat. This could have been an interesting book, if Kirkman had bothered to more fully ground it in "Marvel science." As it is, however, it ended up reading more like fanfic.

If you let something as silly as that ruin the series for you, then something tells me you wouldn't have enjoyed it anyway (like r3x with ASSuperman).

I don't know or really care for you but PJP and G-man are cunts!
Joe Mama, you're not much better!
This book is shit hot!
Finally, Marvel is letting people go wild with their characters - out-fucking-rageus!
SPOILERS!
I was sad as shit to see Magneto bite it!
Amazed to see the Silver Surfer - THIS IS HOW THE CHARACTER SHOULD BE SEEN, just as PAD did in Hulk a few years back!
WUH THE! poor Black Panther!
Has Pym got an idea to cure the Zombies!
SAD, to see what they did to Surfer - will they do the same to Galactus?
Hilarious what has happened to Iron Man, Cap, Wolverine!
This is the best mini-series since Spider-man/Human Torch and to be honest, one of the best ever Marvel mini series!
If editorial would let loose on their such close reigns of characters(such as this mini series), maybe comics have a future!
Please let Grant Morrison go wild on Batman!
I have to agree w/ Roy...G-Man and PJP are cunts!
I also agree this is one hell of a mini-series! I didn't pick it up until late but have absolutely loved it. The way they wrapped it all up? I don't know if this was the best ending or not. Guess I'll have to wait for Marvel Zombies 2 and see if they can keep the concept fresh and interesting.
I did find it absolutely hilarious that Peter was transformed into a Zombie and was still filled with his trademark angst! Too bad he didn't get to take a bite out of Jonah as well! That would have been something he could have felt good about!

It wasn't just that one incident. I just used that as one example of how the series had no rhyme or reason.
At the end of the day, MZ was a "what if" story. The best "what if" stories proceed from one or two deviations from standard Marvel continuity and then extrapolate thereafter, trying to show, as logically as possible, how that one deviation changed Marvel history.
This series didn't do that. Instead it turned into, basically, a big Marvel snuff film.

This one never was about that: from the beginning, they let us know how different this place was from the normal Marvel U even before the zombie plague. There's nothing logical about zombies: they're actually a pretty stupid idea, that only works when it's not taken seriously (like in Shawn of the Dead).

Snuff concentrates on the gore. This one concentrated on the humor of the situation.

Other than the covers, I just didn't see much of the humor coming through. I thought the art made everything very grim and hopeless.

Then you completely missed the tone of the series. It's like the people who complained that JLI sucks because The Bat-Man would never punch Guy Gardner.

Hmmm...Isn't any Zombie venture suppose to be grim and hopeless? Maybe G-Man does get it but doesn't realize he's getting it?
What a paradox!

I actually thought the covers did a good job of conveying what the tone should have been. It was the execution that I thought was bungled.

I really don't see the comparison. I didn't attack the characterization. My complaint was that the story itself was poorly plotted.

I see no shift in tone from the covers to the content inside. It's not straightforward humor, but it's still obviously comedic. The characters aren't evil versions of themselves, they're exhagerated parodies.

I mean you're letting yourself get lost in details that in the end are meaningless, at least in cases like these.

I was a bit disappointed by the ending myself, to be honest. I did manage to chuckle a bit at the last few pages - Black Panther looking like Forge and gettin' it on with the last white chick EVAR, Wasp as a head in a jar, and even the Zombies as the new Galactuses (Galacti?) was a bit comical. All in all, though, I can't help but feel that there might've been a better ending. I feel that everything was building up to something, but the something being built to just wasn't quite as good as the construction. Or, to put it another way, the destination wasn't as fun as the journey.
All in all, I thought this was a very funny book, but ultimately, the ending really left me wanting more (or, perhaps, something other).

I liked the ending, but I thought it could have been better too. It's like he was setting it up for another mini (or for a crossover with the MU), because of the success of the book.

I agree with G-man on Galactus' demise. It would have been better for the Scarlet Witch to have rendered him corporeal or some other plot device to get from there to here. Also, it kind of killed any prospect of a sequel - something I never usually complain about but with zombie films you kind of want all the zombies defeated in fiendish ways - because the zombies are now cosmic, baby. Other than that small complaint, it was good fun.

I didn't know he wasn't corporeal, so it didn't bother me. Now I do, but oddly enough I still don't care.
What kind of sequel could there be on a dead planet earth? Because they're cosmic, they have a greater chance of finding a way of jumping realities once they're done (or get bored) with their universe. I wouldn't want them to visit the Marvel Universe, though, because that would lead to all kinds of lameness (not to mention contradicting story logics).

I guess the sequel I'd like is to have Black Panther beat the zombies. A "Chew on this titanium plated fist, Spider-man zombie" sort of thing. Now they are virtually invincible... although the zombie Reed Richards is trapped in another dimension, and he has been known to defeat Galactus from time to time.

One definite highlight from the last issue (for me anyway) was Cap's demise at the hands of Red Skull. Scooping out his exposed brains?
