 After the fallout from a recent Ultimate Fantastic Four arc, Marvel Zombies visits a world very much like the Marvel Universe... occupied entirely by zombies. Peter Parker ate his wife and aunt. Hulk only turns into Banner when he's just eaten someone. And a small cell group - led by Magneto - works feverishly to find a cure... or die trying! All in all, this is one pretty funny book that's getting some nice attention from fans. A first printing of issue one (cover shown above) sold on eBay recently for $41, I heard today. How many of you are reading this book and what do you think of it?

That's not what I meant... According to Rich Johnston, George Clooney wanted to play Nick Fury until his agent learned of a Garth Ennis Fury book where he does Ennis-like things. Clooney thought that was too nasty and didn't want anything to do with the character. Reportedly, after that Avi Arad demanded Donkey Fucker to make sure no one ever sees Marvel characters doing nasty stuff to protect movie licenses (since they make more money than the comics). This is why I'm surprised they're letting a book like this get published... I guess since they're zombies it doesn't really count.

But anyway...
As noted above, I've thumbed through the book at the store. One of the things that I have trouble suspending disbelef for is the fact that, so far, every Marvel hero, regardless of powers, got afflicted with the virus.
In the past, for example, we've seen both Wolverine and Hulk's healing factors fight off viruses and the like.
And Thor is a mystical god. And HE got it?
Furthermore, as a flesh eating zombie, wouldn't Thor become "unworthy" of holding the hammer?
Similarly, it seems just..odd...to me that the characters, including characters who are loners when "normal," would suddenly band together and work in harmony once they became zombies.
Again, go back to the Hulk-zombie. Hulk is a loner and a brute when not a zombie. Wouldn't a zombie Hulk, instead of hanging around with the Avengers, be like some sort of wild card "eating machine" that got stronger as he got hungrier and who would eat the other heroes, no matter how bad they taste?
There's just too much disbelief to suspend here for me.

1) Before the zombie plague that universe was closer to the regular Marvel U than the Ultimate one, but still it wasn't exactly like it... For example, Captain America has a different name, and there's characters that appeared after Galactus' first appareance that are there even though Galactus is making his first visit to earth in this comic.
2) It's a superhero comic AND a zombie story. Starting with that, all suspension of disbelief levels should go to hell. On top of that, in spite of the crudeness, it's an openly "fun" comic... At this point, it doesn't make any difference at all if the story is feasible or not.

I've been checking it out at the shop...it's pretty twisted. Though I would have rather seen this mini with mindless Marvel zombies with some groups of living heroes/villians fighting them off.
Oh, the FF Zombies return in Ult. FF soon too.
