Am I the only one not that worked up about the lack of Anna Paquin? The gap in her teeth seems to widen with each movie.

The real crime was not enough Mystique ass-shots.

Yes, her lack of screen time was criminal.

I wonder if she has a hairy pussy?

saw x3 this afternoon.

meh.

i enjoyed the fact that it was mostly an action movie -- that much was pretty cool. but, i was disappointed in that it just didn't seem to have the "oomph" the prior two did. and magneto didn't kick ass enough.

i admire the film taking some major chances (xavier, cyclops, and jean dying -- mystique and perhaps magneto losing powers, etc) i think its pretty damn cool they risked that much with such established characters.

Xavier's alive according to the post-credits scene and magneto seems to have gotten his powers back. I bet that Leech drug isn't permanent just long lasting enough to seem so.

Looks like the FDA jumped a bit too prematurely on the "Mutant Cure " bandwagon!

Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light
Those days are over
You don't have to sell your body to the night
Roxanne, you don't have to wear that dress tonight
Walk the streets for money
You don't care if it's wrong or if it's right

Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light
Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light
Put on the red light, put on the red light
Put on the red light, put on the red light
Put on the red light, oh

I loved you since I knew ya
I wouldn't talk down to ya
I have to tell you just how I feel
I won't share you with another boy
I know my mind is made up
So put away your make up
Told you once I won't tell you again it's a bad way

Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light
Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light
You don't have to put on the red light
Put on the red light, put on the red light

Just finally watched it and was seriously disappointed!
Yes the effects were great, and the story had certain comic book references that only a comic reader would get, but overall there was just too much that didnt sit right with me!

Firstly, so many of the characters were unecessary.
What point did Angel, Colossus & most of the "bad" mutants serve?

Storm & Xavier were too fucking condescending, with their holier than thou attitude (Storm not seeing that people like Rogue migh benefit from the cure and Xavier blaming Logan for Jean despite the problem stemming from his botched mind control).

It never made sense to me with Magneto stripping Mystique of her powers.

The cure never truly made sense either.
Leeches powers never stripped people of their powers for good, only in his vicinity, so why would anyone think the cure would be permanent, and how exactly did they extract his powers for a cure?

Killing Cyclops & Xavier didnt work for me.
The way they died though obviously leaves room for their resurrection, but what actual effect did their deaths serve?

The story seemed to be trying to do too much at once, and never seemed to follow through on half the storylines!

You can forgive stuff like Juggernaut being a mutant, but I think they used all these extra characters & storylines to disguise the fact the story was full of more holes than a string vest!

Another thing I will say is that Famke looked haggered!
She has really aged quickly.
I'd still fuck her, but she has lost a lot on the hottness factor!

Jubilee has already been in the X-films!
I seem to remember a small role for Cannonball as well in X2!

I never noticed Cannonball in X 2, therefore, I want him and Jubilee to have bigger roles in upcoming X movies.

Both of their powers are quite visual, and would be fun to see!

Okay, just saw this tonight. I think the fact that it was too many ideas for one film and they never got realized has been said before, so I won't bother repeating it........ Except for that last sentence. I'll also agree that everyone phoned in their performances here. It's just, in all honesty, a terrible movie. Apparently Xaiver's school is five minutes from New York, Alkaline Lake, AND San Francisco as easily and quickly as everyone was moving back and forth. And did the Brotherhood take a nap after Magneto set the Golden Gate Bridge down on the island? It was friggin' daytime when they did it, but they didn't attack until night.

Oddly enough, it's almost like this movie was predestined to be. It does, after all, kinda go with the flow of the history of the book. It started off as a good idea not fully realized. Then, like in the seventies, it came into it's own with a good characterization and plot. Then, like the late eighties until today, it got turned into a wankfest that looks good but pieces together good plot points from the past without really being able to capitalize on them and tries to sustain itself off its past glory. Watching this movie was a lot like being a victim of date rape. So, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to sit in the shower in a fetal position for a couple of hours and cry.

If you do date rape properly the victim would only have a hazy accounting of what happened not quite sure anything improper happened.

Ya really cant say much for "the cure" either!
Magneto was the last person to be injected with it, and was even injected with four times the normal ammount, yet his powers are already returning at the end of the film!
What does that say about all the people who got a normal dose?

When Magneto dropped the bridge, and I do mean droppped, why did nobody fall off?

Why didnt Juggernaut die when he was phased into the floor?
By rights his molecules should have been mixed with those of the floor, killing him outright!

Another huge missed opportunity was the fact we never got to see Colossus & Juggernaut duke it out!

Why did Xavier blame Wolverine for Jean Grey when it was his own carelessness that caused the problem?

Why did Storm not aknowledge that people like Beast & Rogue would benefit from the cure?

Where was the humour that permeated the first two films?

Why did Storm chew out Wolverine for not being a team player when he had just worked out a move with Colossus (the fastball special)?

Why did they have Sentinels in the danger room when they havent been invented yet?

You can seriously tell there was a completely different creative team on this one!
Its not comic geek type complaints (that'd be complaining about Juggernaut not being a mutant etc), its purely based on the fact that the film was flawed to hell and seemed half finished!

Why did he need the fucking bridge in the first place?? Couldn't he have just floated everyone over there on a flat piece of metal, or on car doors, or something? I mean, wouldn't that have been better than moving a whole fucking bridge?!

The film did have some redeeming features but they were not enough to save this film from being a serious disapointment!

The Days of future past danger room senario was great for a comic fan, even though by all rights it should not have included Sentinels going by the films timeline!

The effects were fucking awesome, my fave bit being when Magneto destroyed that convoy!

Vinnie Jones WAS the Juggernaut (by the way, was that a special effect, of had he really worked out?

That was fucking latex, man.

And, honestly, I found no redeeming qualities from this shitfest.

WAIT. Wait. No, the "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!" line was damn nice.

EVERYTHING else was trash...

I never understood why Magneto has to use metal in the movies to fly anyway.
I'm sure the other mutants would have had enough metal in their clothing for Magneto to just lift them without using outside objects!
If that didnt work, just get them to sit in the fucking cars that were on the bridge!

Then again, its no surprise seeing as Magneto was made to look weak in Jean Greys house!

thats a geek complaint!

i think it was just a cool "hey, they're like from the comics!" moment. they never intended on there being a sentinels storyline or actual creation.

that really bothered me -- the scene where logan asks what happened, and xavier gets all bitchy to him

"i don't have to explain myself, least of all to you"

snikt, mother fucker!

totally out of xavier's character

i was hoping they'd explain it away by saying the phoenix persona was reverse controlling or affecting xavier and making him act like a tool, but...

this, i didn't have any problem with.

i think acting like it was personally insulting (even if it perhaps benefitted others) was fine, and actually normal. there are real-life deaf and blind and handicapped people that are against enabling devices, because, as storm' said, "there's nothing wrong" with them.

The problem I have with it isnt a geek complaint, its the fact that should they do a sequel that involves the Sentinels, it will kinda be dumb that the X-Men created a danger room senario about them before they even existed!
The fact that Bolivar Trask was in the movie would indicate that should their be any sequels, there is a strong chance of Sentinel activity rearing its head!

As for the point about Storm, her arrogance was made even worse the way she brushed off McCoy when he pointed out that not every mutant is as lucky as her!
The comparison to handicapped people does not work!
There is not one single handicapped affliction that is postive, where as mutant powers are both negative & positive!
Its easy for a beautiful mutant who has control of her powers to be so judgmental isnt it!
And you show me a handicapped person that would not accept a cure if it was offered to them!

Why did they have Sentinels in the danger room when they havent been invented yet?

thats a geek complaint!

i think it was just a cool "hey, they're like from the comics!" moment. they never intended on there being a sentinels storyline or actual creation.

Its a valid point, and one that I wish they hadn't so quickly dismissed. Rogue and Cyclops (to name but two) are essentially "freaks," they can never have any normal or comfortable life and they should have the choice to change.

Bow ties are coool.
