First of all Bobby Lashley was removed from the Great American Bash for "liver enzyme" issues! This was made public knowledge by the WWE website, but then, The Great Khali was rumoured to have "liver problems" and this appeared to have been true when Big Show replaced him at the last minute!
Next up, the proposed Helms vs Supercrazy match was altered with Matt Hardy replacing Supercrazy. After the show aired, rumours arose that Supercrazy also has "liver enzyme issues".
Now, in a strange twist of fate (you'll get the pun in a minute), Supercrazy's repacement at the Great American Bash, Matt Hardy, has also been pulled from the road for "liver enzyme issues".
On top of this, it is rumoured that more wrestlers will be pulled within the week, although no names have been mentioned!
Now the only name on this list that WWE has aknowledged as having the problem is Lashley, which to my mind shows WWE are worried. Is it possible that this is infectious? I dont think so, but then again, I aint no doctor!
Of course another explanation is that drugs are the cause.
If it is drugs, what drugs would it be? I mean, I can see Khali & Lashley using steroids, but Supercrazy & Matt Hardy dont seem to have a physique that suggests roid abuse. If its pain killers, why on Earth would relatively inexperienced guys like Lashley & Khali need serious painkillers?
Of course, thats just idle speculation, but it just all seems very coincidental that so many people should go down with the same issue at the same time!
If it is something contagious, then you have to worry about anyone these four have come into contact with in the ring.
This new wellness programme just isnt doing what Vince thought it was gonna do.

Someone over in another wrestling thread suggested it could be contaminated food, especially if the wrestlers happen to be together when they ate. Being in the restaurant business, I know how easy it can be to contract something like hepatitis C and how fast it can spread, plus the fact that it is contagious, so they could've spread it to others without knowing it. It is very odd that so many wrestlers in an organization can come down with the same malady at once. I do give the WWE its props: The PPV could've been a total disaster but they salvaged parts of it. Now the main problem for now...there are roughly only 15 active wrestlers on the roster and JBL and Benoit are still on extended leave, Henry won't be back for another 6-8 months and The Undertaker is mainly a part-timer these days. I'd hate to be the one running the Smackdown brand these days...

Why anyone who wrestles wouldn't get vaccinated for heppatitus is beyond me, there is so much blood intentionally and unintentionally exchanged that youd be stupid not to.
there are liver problems associated with steroid abuse so even if someone is not on roids now they may have lingering effects. i have read that supplements also take their toll.

Matt Hardy sent word to his webmaster at TheHardyShow.com that he will be taking time off from WWE for health reasons.
Quote:
Hello everyone,
Just a little update on Matt for the sake of killing any rumors and assumptions as to his status.
Simply enough, when Matt was given the standard blood test, they found dormant trace elements of the Staph infection which plagued him many months ago.
After a light antibiotic treatment and a few weeks off to properly rest, Matt will be back...
Feel free to send him your thoughts, possibly via a 'get well' thread on the board?
Hope all of you are making the most of the summer!
Andrew

it is most definitely pain killers like Vicodin or Percoset. Even too much Tylenol and Advil will raise your Liver Enzymes. I was almost declined Life Insurance recently because I took alot of pain killers last year. They made me take like 6 more blood tests over the course of 6 months to prove my liver wasn't failing. But the first test I took was off the chart so that's why they freaked.

PWTorch.com reports Kid Kash has been suspended...Quote:
Kid Kash has been officially suspended, and while he was on thin ice for backstage demeanor lately, the suspension is related to his blood test results, according to a reliable WWE source.
His Pitbull partner Jamie Noble wrestled a singles dark match last night against Billy Kidman. Kidman is wrestling under a mask playing the role of a Japanese wrestler.

Count on the Smackdown causulty list Matt Hardy (on leave due to blood test problem), Kid Kash (suspended) and Tatanka (though not confirmed yet) to the growing number of wrestlers not medically cleared. Already these guys are out:
Boogeyman (injury) Chris Benoit (extended leave) Hardcore Holly (extended leave) Joey Mercury (rehab) Bobby Lashley (liver) Mark Henry (leg injury) Super Crazy (liver) Khali (liver) JBL (injury: on leave but is doing announcing)

As a couple of updates, I heard Hardcore Holly is returning soonish (I think I got it from Pwinsider, but I don't remember), and I think Mercury's supposed to be returning in the next couple of months. That one I'm less sure about, though, as I've yet to hear anything about it on the Insider or the other big league sites.
