As for this weekend, that's more like it.

I'm 13-2 going into tonight's game in Jville. My boss is a Dolphins' fan and I plan to give him loads of grief about his team today. He wants to tell me how they've replaced the Patriots. Yeah, right. Culpepper looks like Culpepper to me.

Solid, solid win for the Stripes. Carson had 324 in the air, Rudi 145 on the ground. THAT's Bengals football.

jets almost had a great game. er, second half.

at least it was fun (i.e; wasn't as embarassing) to watch.

It looks like another typical Lions' season. They were flagged for four more yards than a football field worth of penalties. And Roy Williams posed after a first down when the Lions were already down by ten. This guy has to go. Even if he does, there is no guarantee that the Lions will be better, but at least they'll be a little less embarrassing. Want proof, read Albom:

Quote:

...

Uh, Roy, about this score thing ...

"Shouldn't poses like that wait until things are looking better?" I asked Williams after the game.

"I celebrate first downs all the time. I'm not gonna stop that. I'm an exciting player. If I do something exciting, I'm gonna show my actions."

"But you were losing, 10-0."

"What does that mean? ... That means nothing to me. The score means nothing."

Oh. My bad. I thought that's how they determined who won.

Look, Williams is talented and plenty smart. But until the Lions do something on the field, all this promise, projection and guarantee stuff only makes them look like amateurs.

"It's a 'show me' game," said offensive lineman Damien Woody. "You can't just talk about how special this offense is, you have to produce on the field. ... Potential is a scary word. All people care about is results."

Right. Here are Sunday's results. 14 penalties for 104 yards. Three fumbles lost. Six sacks allowed. One third down converted. One?

"We laid an egg," said tackle Jeff Backus. "A horrible display of football."

What pose do you strike for that? Maybe a man with his hands over his face?

...

Roy Williams does not get it. He never will. All he's shown is that potential means nothing if it can't produce. The Lions can have all the potential in the world, but they can't produce, mainly because they still have a major attitude problem. The Bears may not admit it, but they used Williams' comments as a little bit of extra motivation to embarrass the Lions for a second straight second game meeting. How could they not? He dissed them without any proof that he could bring it. It looks to me like the only thing he can bring is "Vogue! Strike a pose!" Maybe he needs to look into modeling because football just isn't his thing.

I went 14-2 with Jville's win over the Steelers last night.

Big Ben should not have played. Too soon. Guy's trying too hard to show us that his crash in summer and his appendectomy aren't affecting him. Well, they are, if nothing else, he's rusty.

Overall, I'm now 20-12 (62.5%)
