And, to be fair, one of my favorite friends there is blind and I take every opportunity available to make fun of that and we're still friends. That guy never fit there. He never got the spirit of the RKMBs. We're gonna keep an eye on the obits, see if he finally left or if he really did have a heart attack.

Honestly, if someone has to bitch about another poster in the "secret mod forum" because they lack the courage to say it here, do they really belong here in the first place? And if Rob really wants people to post more on the rkmbs, is splitting up the posters between the two boards really the best way to do that?

to be fair this poster also makes fun of me in every forum but he's too chicken shit to respond to my questions. I tried to PM him about it one time and his defense was that pariah did the same thing so I should go after pariah and not him.

Dave said he didn't have as much internet time anymore, and wanted to concentrate on his own boards (Incandescent). Rob picked me because Chewy suggested me, and, as it turned out, I was the only one that showed any real interest in doing it. Seriously.
As for the whole mystical nature behind the "secret mod forum", I think the above screenshot Mxy put up should demystify alot of it. It is, perhaps, a quite boring forum that gets a new post about every three weeks, tops. Unless I'm cursing at G-Man. Then, we create a whole thread with me calling him a cocksucker, and then, feeling bad about it when I sober up the next day.
I've constantly seen bsams (and possibly others) say that there is alot of "talking about posters behind their backs". As I didn't really get access until around Feb (I think?), I can't say for sure that he's totally wrong. But, dead honest here....I cannot remember seeing Mods talk bad about anyone in there......with perhaps the exception of G-Man speaking about bsams. But, I could be wrong. I would love to see some links to the so-called "bad mouthing". Not saying it didn't happen. Just saying I haven't seen it yet...

you already are a mod of a forum...probably the best forum....so why not let someone else have a little fun. harleykwin would make an excellent mod of the comics foum.

I took it merely on the notion that, (A) no one else expressed any consistent interest in doing it, (B) how could I vouch for anyone's free-time ratio to do the "job", and, (C) in the end, it was Robbo's choice, not mine.
But, if you want to go on a Make Harley a Comic Mod mission, I'll back you and happily hand the keys to the castle right over to her, with no regrets. I honestly don't have alot to offer that particular forum...

I don't think CC was taking issue with you....he was just using the fact that the decision process of who was going to be the new comic mod was limited to a very small number of people. If the question was asked in a real forum, "who wants to be a comic mod?" tons of people would reply.

It was quite possible I missed the post in the comics forum, as I rarely post there!
But by the same token, if it was revealed to have been in that other forum, then it merely proves my point that the forum does not achieve what it supposedly sets out to do.

Okay, that's cool. I misread the inference then.
Listen, if you want me to speak honestly about the whole thing? I have said for a LONG time that everyone...not just some mods, or all mods...but every poster here should be able to view the HoJ forum. View, at least. Not post. That way, everything would be fair in love&war, and this constant griping could come to an end. But, I sincerely doubt that Rob is going to change his mind...either from my suggestions, or your rants.
And...I swear...really....the forum is nothing. There's a new post, like, once a month. For example, I just made a thread today, asking who was de-stickying the threads in Random Chat. Was it Jaburg? Was it Rob? It saved me alot time from having to do back-and-forth PMs, and crossed communications. Jaburg said "Wasn't me". Rob said he was doing it, and explained why. I said "Cool". My curiosity was satisfied, and everyone went home. THAT is pretty much EXACTLY what goes on there. I would fully expect Mxy and bsams to agree with me, too. Their constant reference to posters being bad-mouthed must have happened in the back-pages of the forum...before my access was ever given....something I've never taken the time to investigate at any lengths.
Does that like...help...at all?
