A couple years back, they reduced the regular black-label Jack to 40% from 43%. I think it was so that it could be sold in States where they have a 40% limit.

...Unlike the one I live in, thankfully. Although, the strongest liquor they sell here in Washington State is 151 proof (75.5%). Over in Montana, you can get the 190 proof (95%) Everclear. I've got a couple of bottles on-hand, just in case I need to sterilize my gastrointestinal tract.


And, the beer... yeah, the big breweries tend to make lower alcohol beers than overseas, but our microbrews run the gamut from light to barleywine-strength.
