http://www.extremeinsider.com/2006/10/24/monty-brown-in-negotiations-with-wwe/Quote:
Monty Brown is in contract negotiations with the WWE, according to PWInsider.com. Monty was seen backstage at RAW last night in Chicago.
I have herad conflicting reports that Monty went to the WWE after not being given a spot on the Bound For Glory PPV. Brown was said to be upset that even though his deal had expired he felt they should have used him in his hometown on a stand alone deal. Others have speculated he was already in talks with WWE and that is why TNA did not use him on the PPV.

You're just jealous because I remind folks of Stone Cold Steve Austin, whereas you remind folks of Pat Patterson.

I was talking about my former tag team partner, SoM. And what the hell are you talking about? You remind people of a less talented, bald Lanny Poffo. On your best day, you're the bald Dale Wolfe.

To be honest, I think Monty could make more of a go of it in WWE. His mic skills are distinctive enough to give him a chance to get over, and his 'big man' style will fit in better in the E.

Interesting.
I was talking to someone about TNA, we both agreed with you Spandy, bigger men are more suited to WWEs craptitude whereas the littler guy does better in TNA!

Let's clarify- the talentless big men do better in WWE. Vince would have no FUCKING clue what to do with Samoa Joe in WWE.

Well from rumours I heard, the Umaga gimmick was originally designed for Joe when WWe were in talks with him! No wonder he balked at signing!

So when will Fit Finlays Leprechaun beat helms for the cruiser weight title?
Oops, I forgot, McMahon compared his cruiser weight division to Ethiopians wrestling not midgets!

If by 'distinctive' you mean utter shit, then, yes, I agree. He'll fit in perfectly in WWE.

If 've said it once I've said it...well, once. I like Monty's mic skills, and IO enjoy watching his matches. He may not all that much talent, I'll grant, but I find him a lot more entertaining than most of Ring Of Honor.

Monty is athletic, there's no question. He's strong and very agile for a guy his size, much like Goldberg. Like Goldberg, he has no wrestling ability or mike skills. Unlike Goldberg, he doesn't have a fan following. The TNA fans never got behind Monty despite how much TNA pushed him. I remember during his first big feud for the NWA title against Jarret, he tried to get the audience to chant 'Pounce!' over and over. About four people did. The fact is, if you can't wrestle and you're a professional wrestler, you need something else to make a career. You either need a very good gimmick, mike skills, or charisma/presence. Goldberg at least had a presence (mostly due to the WCW having him squash half the roster when he first came in), but that faded the longer he stayed out of wrestling and the fewer squash matches he had on TV. The WWE could easily build up Monty by letting him run a series of squash matches against the cruisers and other curtain jerkers and midcarders; but without any of those other things, that won't last too long.

From WWE.com Quote:
Monty Brown, formerly of the Buffalo Bills, has signed with World Wrestling Entertainment. Stay tuned to WWE.com for more information.
Quote:
When former NFL star Monty Brown explodes into action for the first time in a WWE ring, it will be the fulfillment of one of two very vast childhood dreams.
“I had two dreams as a kid,” Brown told WWE.com. “One was to become a professional football player; the other was to become a WWE Superstar. How many people can say they actually lived out both dreams?”
For someone who once crafted their own WWE Championship in junior high school, Brown claimed that signing with WWE is something he swore he would accomplish some day.
“[My classmates and I] made what we called the Wood Class Championship,” Brown reflected. “I still have that belt to this day. I felt that one day I would be working for this company.”
Growing up in a bedroom with wall-to-wall wrestling legends, Brown said that he engulfed his room with posters of greats such as Ricky Steamboat, Mike Rotundo and Harley Race – on one wall. On a separate wall, all to himself was the 16-time World Champion Ric Flair, a man Brown could potentially be meeting one-on-one once he begins his WWE career.
“[In WWE], the competition is deep,” admitted Brown. “But, if you don’t want to be involved with the best on the planet and be involved in a competitive atmosphere, you don’t do what you do. You choose to do something else.”
The thick-framed Brown is no stranger to competition. A collegiate All-American and also former NFL linebacker for both the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots, Brown has competed in Super Bowl games for both franchises.
Following his football career, Brown trained extensively towards his goal of reaching WWE. Under the guidance of the former WWE Superstar Dan Severn and the Suicidal, Homicidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying Maniac Sabu, Brown is prepared to blast through Raw, SmackDown or ECW with his unique style.
“This is something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time,” Brown claimed. “I’m pretty much going to bring a no-nonsense, hard-hitting, take-no-prisoners linebacker style with just a straight-ahead, destroyer-type mentality.”
Despite his confidence in his abilities, Brown said that before he makes his in-ring debut, he will continue to eat, breathe and sleep this business as he closely studies tape after tape of WWE action with his notebook in hand.
“Coming to WWE is a definite blessing and a privilege,” he said. “To come and work for the Mecca of all Meccas, I’m just anxious to start. I’m looking forward to getting in the mix and being part of the WWE family,” Brown added.
“Monty Brown is definitely on his way.”

Now if only they could unload that giant putz Hernandez and grab someone like Carlito in exchange, TNA would be set. In fact, TNA would be... COOL!
