A couple things: Firstly, despite the name, the Prometheus Initiative has nothing to do with Pro or his character by the same name. For the sake of storytelling I can only be vague at this point, but it was the best fitting name I could come up with. Secondly - a word to Pro - I put Frasier on the eastern seaboard. If that's a problem, let me know and I can change it.

Lemme know what you think...

I'm not seeing the dreaminess just yet, Chewy.

I'm fine with Bellatrix being a villian for now. Or she's working for a villian, however you want to look at it.

Bit of trivia when I came up with her -- she's actually something me and my brother worked on together, except the armor was actually a demon fighting other demons with a human host so he could regain his soul and go back to heaven. 'X-files' meets 'ouched by an Angel' meets 'The Little Mermaid' (the Anderson version, not the Disney version). I took 'Nicole', twisted her background a little bit, and made Bellatrix. I wanted her to be named after a star (since the technology is 'space age') and Bellatrix is a star in the constellation Orion.

Just as a note -- I really never understand anyone's comic writer references. "Jackie, that's so Grant Morrison of you!" For the record, please translate statements like that.

To clarify further, Valiant Comics in the early 90's had a habit of having characters in close proximity to each other, but never meet or interact. For instance, occassionally you'd see a character or characters from another book pass in the background, but never interact in the story. In the other book with those characters, you'd see the same situation from their prospective while they're doing their mission or whatnot. My favorite is an issue of Shadowman where he's on a road trip and stops in a diner in the midwest. Turok the Dinosaur Hunter walks by to leave after eating his pancakes or some-such.

I already gave this to Pro, but here it is for everyone else. This is a beta copy of Hero Machine 2.0 that they did last year before making you have to buy it. Now, I'm sure that the one you pay $20 for has a shitload of other stuff on it, but this one has a few more options than the one online age UGO. It's in a zip file, so you'll need something like WinZip or PKUnzip in order to use it. Once unzipped, there will be an HTML file represented as an image corresponsing to whatever your default browser is. Double-click on it to open up HM2 in a browser window and have fun.

Announcement: This has nothing to do with this thread. I just wanted to say that the name of my " Short Stories" thread has now been changed to " Tales Of The Champions."

It's the same stories and characters, only the thread name has been changed. Chapter Seventeen of "Lost in Time and Space"... coming soon!

Thank you.

The post I have in my mind takes place right after the end of my first post, and fleshes out the character a bit more.

Oh, and I'd very much like to have a team of villains. That would certainly be new for us.

Nice design, Jacks!

And, while I'm not against being "villians", per se, I also think another viable option would for each character to be their own island, so to speak. Maybe we don't form a team, but perhaps, a group of self-interested individuals brought together for...a nefarious purpose? (ala' DC's Secret Six from Villians United) Or, perhaps, we could even play around with each of our characters being adversaries with each other? Maybe we could split off into two groups that oppose each other? We certainly have enough writers and characters to do something like this.

I don't know. Just brainstorming...

OK, I would have written a new post if I hadn't been given a shiny new toy to play with...

I'm sorry I couldn't do anything to make our characters more colorful. Black is sort of traditional for a ninja. You may notice that I tried to make the background extra colorful to make up for it.

He's supposed to look a bit modernized for a ninja. The first difference between this and how I actually imagine him are that his suit would be covered by the sybols I described in the first post. The symbols would look sort of like the alchemy diagrams from Fullmetal Alchemist.

The other difference would be the appearance of his weapons. The longer of the two (in his right hand) would be a wakizashi, basically a Japanese shortsword (about 60 cm) used primarily as a slashing weapon

and the shorter of the two would be a tanto, a Japanese dagger (about 30 cm) used primarily as a stabbing weapon.

This would normally be an unusual pair of weapons to be wielded at the same time, but he's a ninja from an alternate freakin' reality.

The idea sounds good, Pro, although I had something VERY challenging in store for Darmo when he has to.. uh, oops, don't wanna give anything away here!

I'm not as big of a fan of Hero Machine as I used to be. The pictures never turn out how I imagine them in my head. For now, if you need to picture what Seven looks like, think of David Anders (Mr. Sark from TVs "Alias") with white hair and grey eyes...

Regarding the outcome of the story, I like Pro's idea of two group fighting each other. I also still like the usual team of freaks like the MBL or Vanguard, maybe just with a twist, like them being more or less all villains captured and put in a sort of Suicide Squad, driven by some secret agency.

What I don't think it would last is to have them just crossing paths "a la Valiant", without never coming "together" (in one or two teams), in whatever new, different, strange way we could think of.

If they have to be solo stories, I would prefer to be each one in its own separate thread. else, it would break the old rules, wouldn't they?

That doesn't mean that they must group soon. I am perfectly at ease to have a long time where they works solo before they met; that helps to flesh them out well by their respective characters before the writings of the others turns them inevitably into something different...

Another thing is that the treath(s), if they are from outside (and not one or more of our own characters) must be really big. The level of power we have created is enough big to stop a war...

On the subject of team dynamics, I like the idea of two groups fighting each other, or at least not working together. That, to me, is the only idea that has enough mileage in it, as to me the others would only work for a story or two. The villain group idea is kinda interesting, butfor Tom in particular it wouldn't work, as he is basically a good guy, albeit one who's a lot more ruthless than normal.

Until I draw a pic of Darmo, the best verbal description I can give you of him is that he kinda looks like a Transformer or a Go - Bot, except for the fact that he cannot actually transform into a car or a jet or a washing machine or anything like that.

I am surprised that only two others besides myself made entries into the Doctor's "Writing Experiment Thread."

Time is running out to post entries in it, and I very much would like to see that thread continue and thrive as the "Tabula Rasa" thread and this companion thread to it have.

Once again I have created the non-powered or low powered character.

Seriously, I'll let you guys figure out how this is going to go group wise. My main concern and reason I started this up again is because I had some ideas I wanted to experiment with as far as the setting goes. My character's place is not really obvious right now; but he's going to evolve, in more ways than one, and is actually going to change the world. I'm not talking about in the "He's destined to save the universe" way either. I'm just intersted in a character(s) whose actions and presence change the society around them. Plus, I want to hit on a few philosophical and moral quandaries.

Reguarding the villians thing...some of our characters are cut out to be villians, some are not. I'm more in favor of two teams pitted against each other though.

Personally, I'm not too sure about the whole 'two teams' thing. I'm really stricken by the Valiant idea... but if that doesn't mesh with anyone else, then I guess I'm fine with that.

I would post some more about Seven as a character, but I'd prefer to do most of that through the story.

Damn! I went looking on Google and couldn't find a photo of a robot on the toilet!

I bet even Optimus Prime has to go potty sometime... you'd think Megatron woulda had a spycam in Prime's bathroom just for laughs and made still pics and embarassed Prime with pics of him on the potty!

The thing about the 'Varient' idea is that it would only work for so long. I don't think it has much endurance.

But you know what? I'm not a spontaneous person. But I'm really going to 'go with the flow' and maybe we'll see teams naturally form.

So far, Doc's characters and mine have interacted. Chewy's made a post about 'all the odd things happening', so there is a 'big picture' emerging. We're slowly bringing these characters together.

Yeah, says the guy who created The Spectre...

I was saying that in a positive manner. We have characters much more powerful of what we had in Vanguard, let's use them to their potential.

As for the "Spectre", if I have it my way, he will be not much more useful than what Mxy was in Vanguard. Sometimes could be the key player, most of the time will be pretty useless.

The post I have in my mind takes place right after the end of my first post, and fleshes out the character a bit more.

Oh, and I'd very much like to have a team of villains. That would certainly be new for us.

That must be one mighty big post.
