So, it's cold outside, and I'm lazy, so I stopped shaving, bought a beard trimmer, and grew a light beard to keep my face warm.
For the men: Do you have facial hair? Why?
For the women: Do you like facial hair on men? Why?

I have facial hair because almost everyone says that I look better with facial hair..even people that don't like facial hair..a few women like me better without facial hair, but most do..apparently I'm ugly...hah. Anyway, I like it and don't give a shit if others don't.
I wear my facial hair three different ways depending on what time of year it is and if I screw up my Goatee. I sometimes wear a full beard in winter, usually a goatee, but sometimes a fu manchu/old west style mustache..I dunno. That's like sometimes i wear my hair medium and sometimes really short...depends on my mood. As long as you cut that shit off of your throat it and keep it decently groomed it can look good.
I'm sure the women will give you a completely different answer.

I have a full beard. I have had it for just about thirty years now. I knew I wanted a beard when I grew up when I was about 4 or 5 years old. Why? My mom had this old Michaelangelo artbook, and other art books showing older men with long, beautiful gray beards. I liked the look very much, as it looked to me that the men in those paintings were intelligent, thoughtful, and strong of will.. all traits that I admire and want for myself... so, I guess I emulate their look for those reasons. Also, because I find beards to be VERY erotic. I am attracted to older ( Older than I, at age 49 ) men with beards, mostly to black men but to some older white, asian, latino, samoan, etc, as well. A gray beard is a big turn on for me. Here is my beard :

I used to have what I suppose you'd call a vandyke from my junior year of high school until halfway through my freshman year of college. When I first did it, I was mainly flaunting my apparent übermanliness - as far as I was concerned, being able to grow out a full vandyke three months before your seventeenth birthday was evidence of a ridiculous level of testosterone! But it always got mixed reactions from girls. Some really went for it, some didn't. A handful of my best friends in high school (including Holy Tard and Venemous Pete who used to post on my boards) had been my friends since first grade, and I trusted their opinions implicitly. Unfortunately, their opinions didn't line up with most girls' opinions once I got to college. Three weeks into spring semester, I was clean-shaven for the first time since my sophomore year of high school. Women noticed, and most of 'em liked it, but I looked in the mirror and felt like I looked fifteen years old. I wanted to find a happy medium between clean-shaven wussy-looking me and bearded scary-looking me. So I went with the half-goatee I've had ever since. It's a nice compromise, and I find it adds to my already profound aura of awesomeness.

I had a goatie for the longest time, then got bored with it and shaved it off. Now everyone says I look five years younger. I had a beard in high school, which scared the shit out of people. It was fun.

I'm incapable of growing a respectable beard/goatee/whatever. My facial hair is too patchy and light coloured (and going grey....*sniff*). At best I usually have a few days stubble, and that isn't as full as some guy's 5 o' clock shadow.

I have a soul patch, but it's blond so you really can't see it. I've grown a beard a couple of times (twice for a play and once when I shaved my head), but other than that, I usually just stick to sideburns and a soul patch.

I've had facial hair since 1987 (excluding a couple of weeks in Aug. 89 when I shaved off the beard/stache before going to grad school...my daughter, he was 5 months old at the time, didn't recognize me without it, so I grew it back)
i shaved the beard down to a goatee in '99 and have worn the 'tee ever since (see pic).
We all wear a green carnation.
