I've become so numb I can't feel you there Become so tired so much more aware I'm becoming this all I want to do Is be more like me and be less like you
Can't you see that you're smothering me Holding too tightly afraid to lose control Cause everything that you thought I would be Has fallen apart right in front of you (Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow) Every step that I take is another mistake to you (Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow) And every second I waste is more than I can take
I've become so numb I can't feel you there Become so tired so much more aware I'm becoming this all I want to do Is be more like me and be less like you
And I know I may end up failing too But I know You were just like me with someone disappointed in you
I've become so numb I can't feel you there Become so tired so much more aware I'm becoming this all I want to do Is be more like me and be less like you

Poor, poor, Ian Richardson...the music you brought us as lead singer and flautist for Jethro Tull will live on whenever any one plays air guitar to "Aqualung" or kareokes "Bungle in the Jungle."
Huh, its not the lead singer of Tull? That was Ian Anderson?
Oh. damn. Sorry.
So who the hell is Ian Richardson?

note to g-man, that bit works best when you confuse the name for a well known name.

I first heard Jethro Tull when that song was a hit on the radio around 1972; I had all their LP's a few months later.
The first two, This Was and Stand Up...and Aqualung, their fourth LP are great, but their third album - Benefit - is my favorite.
Their sound was very different from anything else from 1968 - 1969 when they released their first two albums.
