I just got done watching Star Trek: Voyager on Spike tv; it was very good. BE'Lanna is stranded on an alien planet
and a man is writing and performing plays based on information he got from her.
Now I am watching That Thing You Do! on Cinemax.
Great movie, and the music, an imitation of mid 1960's performers such as the Dave Clark 5, The Beatles, The Supremes and Johnny Rivers.
The title song is excellent and I never tire of it.

Armegeddon is on Encore movies right now. There's nothing else on. This is far from being a favorite, but I like it.
Michael Clarke Duncun looks great in it.
This is one of at least 3 movies where Bruce Willis' character died. He dies quite well in all of them, too.

Millennium. I have liked this movie for years. George liked it, too. It is on Encore right now.
I named a cat after one of the main characters in it... Louise. She was a good cat, too.
I like the premise.. that they save the people who die in plane crashes and put artificial lifeforms in their place.
They cannot just stop planes from crashing, as that would cause time paradoxes and stuff like that.

I watched " It! Terror From Beyond Space. "
A bad horror flick from 1958 about a monster who stowed away on a spaceship from Earth that landed on Mars. It was on Encore Drama. It was dumb but kinda fun.
Now on is " Bride Of The Monster. " Starring Bela Lagosi and Tor Johnson. I think this is an Ed Wood movie. Ed Wood movies are reknowned for being so horrible that they are funny. This is from 1955.
I like bad horror movies from the 50's.

A two hour show on Science Channel called " Krakatoa."
Krakatoa, a volcano which lies halfway between Sumatra and Java.
The 1883 eruption killed 36,000 people.The volcano unleashed a pyroclastic flow... heated gas and particles ( and rocks and boulders! ) which travels up to a few hundred mph, and the temperatature of this flow can be up to 1,000 degrees!
The flow hit the ocean and caused a tsunami, which caused horrible destruction.
There was not enough warning, which would have saved many on coastal cities.
Volcanic dust floated around the region for over a year.
Another volcano in the same vicinity is waiting like a time bomb to go off....
