Agreed. That Raimi is a fan and din't use Gwen (and have her killed in the 1st flick) never made sense. MJ could've been briefly introduced then, or saved until movie number 2. I admit, I still liked that she was introduced here - and I found Howard's Gwen look here uncanny btw- but her character could've been so much more significant had they used her in the first movie and killed her off then.

This is one of those annoying and anal fan comments. There is no way they introduce and then kill off the love interest in a superhero film. Also they won't use a love interest that hasn't been a regular in the comics since 1973 over a love interest who has been a constant part of the comics for 3 decades.
They have no obligation to slavishly follow the events in the comics.

When did I say that had to "slavishly follow events in comics"? That you chose to read that into what I said is your fucking problem.

And why couldn't they kill of a love interest in a movie? Because it hasn't been done before? So what?

And as for using a love interest that is in the comics for the last 3 decades over one that hasn't been a regular since 1973 - like the general public knows the difference!!! Most people wouldn't have known or cared. The only people who would've known or cared is an "anal fan" such as yourself.

Dear, sweet Harley Kwink...I'm madly in love with you. Marry me! We can go to Canadia. Or Boston or something. It'll be grand...You know the cookies are a given. They are ALWAYS a given. You could dump me tomorrow and you'd still get the cookies. Boston..shit, wherever dyke weddings were legalized. And where better to rub their little piggie noses in how bad they suck than right on their doorstep? What are they gonna do? Be jealous of you? Stare furiously at your tah-tahs? Not willingly give you cookies, but instead begrudgingly give you their cookies? Woman, time to wake up to the powers you wield - Uschi
