Sometimes those group attacks work well, but when it comes to running through the door in single file, its not the greatest plan!

Yeah, thats the one! Found some pretty clever tactics in that one for getting lotsa kills! Usually involves shooting someone in the back, but thats life!

Yeah, I was playing this morning before work and we were on this one level (I don't remember the name) with the ruins in the middle east. I'm familiar with stage and when the match kicks off I go to a particular spot and crouch because I know the other team ALWAYS comes through not expecting anything there. Works everytime. Today, some guy was on the balcony above me and jumps down right on my position. The second he stepped forward I gave him the Nowhereman special...........I shot him in the back. I replaced UVA Jammer with Stopping Power. As much as I liked being stealthy, I got sick and tired of having to unload entire clips to kill. Works out much better now.

For some reason, just recently, everytime I recieve an invitation to a game, I get an error message when I accept.
Maybe Jeff has let Elsia infect his system!
Is this what you have done Jeff? Please tell me you have not unleashed the Elsia virus on the PS3 community!

?!?! LOL, Elsia doesn't play this game, she plays Guitar Hero III.
Dunno what happened. Everything works for me. The only change is that I've been playing Ground War and Headquarters more often. They might have filled up seconds after the invitation and were too full to join.

Yeah, double XP is gonna be cool! Been trying to play today, but the server must be playing up. Games have like 10 people ready to play, but when the game starts, only two or three end up in it, or the connection interupts half way through a match!

Cross bought this, but we haven't tried getting online yet.
Let me ask, is there a way for he and I to play as Player 1 and Player 2, split-screen, against an AI enemy without getting online? What I'm asking is, is there a two-player mode that would allow us to fight together against the bad guys just on the off-line version of the game?

Mostly!
Yeah, it's for PS3. However, we were looking to be able to co-op together against the AI enemies. We'll eventually get it hooked up online. But, for now, it's just getting used to the thing. I've rarely, if ever, played first-person shooter games. And, I've never played in Call of Duty games. So, it's a bit different getting used to the thing.
I'll let you know how it turns out...

Pssh! CoD4 is overrated. That whole experience points BS makes things so uneven.
The maps may not be as good, but I still prefer Resistance: Fall of Man. Plus, R:FOM 2 is going to blow CoD4 out of the water anyway.

Me either Pro, but per Nowhereman's suggestion I tried out Call of Duty 3 and have been hooked. Especially Call of Duty 4...it is digital crack.

The maps may not be as good, but I still prefer Resistance: Fall of Man. Plus, R:FOM 2 is going to blow CoD4 out of the water anyway. You are talking utter shit. When you first start out, yes its tough because you are getting used to it. I went prestige a few weeks ago meaning I started from scratch, losing all my benefits and weapons, but due to experience, I was able to fight with people with better weapons just as easily as I did with all the top notch weapons. I have tried to play FOM online again recently and its far too basic. Just run around and shoot, no feeling of realism or strategy. The fact you think the experience points make it too uneven shows you have not played it much. One of my friends is way below me because he has only played on the PS3 version a few times, but he is much better as he had already played it ages on the 360. He came into the PS3 version as level 1 like everyone, and was able to beat better ranked players. You are gay!

I'm sure if I were the type of person who dedicated myself to a particular account so as to level up my character, ala WoW, I'd care a lot more. But because I like the simplicity of free-for-alls, and the fact that you can still strategize efficiently in team matches, I honestly could give a rat's ass.

You have free for alls and strategies in COD4, so you are talking out of your arse. FOM is just a blastfest with little or no scope for strategy. It was good while there was nothing better available, now it just does not hold up!

But does CoD's free-for-all have an Auger? Or a Bullseye? Or standard heat sensitive vision? I think not.
The only reason anyone would say Resistance didn't have a lot of strategy would be because they weren't apart of a clan and, therefore, never got a lot of opportunity to take advantage of the maps.
Granted, CoD4's maps were designed with strategy in mind whereas Resistance was basically 'run to the center' with cover. But to say you can't take advantage of the map through a coordinated effort is wrong. CoD 4's team match format isn't any different: If you're not in close correspondence with the rest of your team, you're gonna get your ass handed to you.
