If you have a mental condition, then you are not likely to accept that you have a mental condition. The chances are, in this case, he actually thought he was doing the right thing. That is not the actions of a man who would even be able to aknowledge he had a mental condition.
If you are drunk, and you do something stupid, you dont necessarily realise you are doing something stupid, and will deny it when people confront you, cause you believe you are right. Mental conditions are the same!
There is no jusification for what he did, but he wasnt evil.
