Just taking one look at Bobby Lashley, Snitsky, Batista, etc should show that the policy never was worth shit to begin with...

Snitsky defo did steroids in the past, his back pretty much tells us that, and its quite possible the other do or have done roids, but you can actually get that big without roids.
I know at least one guy who is built like Batista and Lashley, and he has never touched steroids.

World Wrestling Entertainment is stunned and saddened by the details released by local authorities concerning the double homicide-suicide involving Chris Benoit, his wife, Nancy, and his son, Daniel.

However, WWE is concerned with the sensationalistic reporting and speculation being undertaken by some members of the media following the press conference held by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and the District Attorney. During the press conference, the investigating authorities made the following points, all of which run contrary to the media speculation that "roid rage" was a factor in the senseless murders and suicide:

1. The authorities stated that all drugs found in the house were believed to be legal prescriptions.

2. Steroids were not, and could not, be related to the cause of death (asphyxiation). Authorities had no factual basis to speculate as to Benoit’s state of mind, and rightly did not do so.

3. Toxicology tests have not even been completed, so there is no current evidence that Benoit even had steroids or any other substance in his body. In that regard, on the last test done on Benoit by WWE's independently administered drug testing program, done on April 10, 2007, Benoit tested negative.

4. The physical findings announced by authorities indicate deliberation, not rage. The wife's feet and hands were bound and she was asphyxiated, not beaten to death. By the account of the authorities, there were substantial periods of time between the death of the wife and the death of the son, again suggesting deliberate thought, not rage. The presence of a Bible by each is also not an act of rage.

5. WWE strongly suggests that it is entirely wrong for speculators to suggest that steroids had anything to do with these senseless acts, especially when the authorities plainly stated there is no evidence that Benoit had steroids in his body, pending the toxicological reports, and that they had no evidence at this time as to the motive for these acts.

WWE is continuing to monitor the ongoing investigation being conducted by local authorities.

TVWeek.com is reporting that Vince McMahon will open up tonight's ECW on Sci Fi broadcast to publicly apologize for the three hour tribute to Chris Benoit last night. The tribute aired before knowledge of Benoit's guilt in the murders of his son and wife as well as his own suicide.

Actually, yes it does. Even with mental conditions, a person still has to take responsibility for themselves and their actions. If he indeed is found to be the culprit, he is a bad and evil person, and much much less of a man for killing his wife and child. A good, not-evil person would get assistance dealing with a mental condition, a real man would not be so selfish and weak to destroy people due to his own conditions.

Sorry, Pig, but there is no excuse for murder. I hope, for y'all's sake of preserving his image and memory as a good person, I hope he didn't do it.

If you have a mental condition, then you are not likely to accept that you have a mental condition.
The chances are, in this case, he actually thought he was doing the right thing.
That is not the actions of a man who would even be able to aknowledge he had a mental condition.

If you are drunk, and you do something stupid, you dont necessarily realise you are doing something stupid, and will deny it when people confront you, cause you believe you are right.

I agree with Uschi here. If Benoit did indeed kill his family and himself, as it appears he did, then:

A real man gets help with problems. He does not " tough" it out on his own.

A good man does not kill women and children.

A good man does not kill except to save a life.

Well, I'll take back the "evil" part 'cause I'm not religious and it doesn't mean the same to me. But as a person with mental illness that takes care of it, raised by people with mental illness that did NOT take care of it, I don't have a lot of sympathy. If he thought he was doing the right thing, chances are he was some kind of schizophrenic and the people around him would have noticed.

I'm not trying to detract from the tragedy, but I don't think excuses ought to be made.

Not all mental conditions are as cut and dried as that.
The fact is, some mental conditions mean you do not actually realise you have a mental condition, so why would you seek help?

Benoit was a 40 year old man and showed no signs up to this point, and if he did, why did those closest to him not see it or help him?

The only way this would truly be evil is if he didnt have a mental condition and just did this for whatever reason he came up with!

Said better than I said it....I also am not excusing the horrific act..i just can't see him knowingly doing it..the wife part maybe in a "roid rage" or something but not then premeditatedly killing his son a half day to day later--it doesn't make any sense, especially a bad or evil person. I think he was mentally damaged somehow at the time.

it's not like he has a reason not to be. he's not dependent on the business or protecting anyone. he's a lot like Piper in that he's tired of seeing his friends die before their time.

It just amazes me that these alleged reports of domestic violence were kept out of the public eye. We're all familiar with the "exploits" of Steve Austin, Scott Hall, the Lawler clan, etc.

Okay, I don't want to turn this thread into an argument, and I've mostly made my position known (which is as far as things go, on the internet). Just a few quick comments before I let this be:

Most cereal killers are sociopathic and are able to function as good or better than typical people in society. Take, for example, Ted Bundy. When he was caught, people were shocked and aghast, "but he was such a nice guy!" People with that sort of mental illness don't care about other people, don't give them the respect of treating them equal to how the sociopath feels about them. They lie and cajol and play the people like meat puppets to achieve whatever goal they have in mind.

Being a sociopath is a mental disorder (and is, in fact, one of the ones I got diagnosed with). That doesn't mean I wouldn't classify Ted Bundy or Manson or any of the thousands of others as "evil," just because they were born with an invisable handicap.

And, if what you (I think) posted in a thread following this quote is true, that he had been showing symptoms for the past year of paranoia and stuff, he had ample time to go get help, out of love for his wife and kid -- even if he didn't believe he had a problem. Like a decent human should do.

I'd imagine it would not be prudent for anyone to release the identies of the co-workers just yet, as that could compromise the investigation.

*note: I am not accusing Chris Benoit of being a cereal killer. I'm just using an extreme example to make my point. I am in no way claiming to know anything about Chris Benoit's mental state or potential irregularities.
