To some extent, the producers are causing this problem by retelling the origins. They might be better off just telling good stories about Batman, the Joker, et al.

In any event, I don't know why its that big a deal for people. The Keaton/Nicholson Batman movie is nearly twenty years old now and the difference in years between that movie and this one is roughly the same as the Keaton movie and the 1960s TV show.

In fact, any one who can't understand that is probably the same type of person who, back in 1989, was bitching about no "POW" and "ZAP" in the Keaton film.
