In any event, I don't know why its that big a deal for people. The Keaton/Nicholson Batman movie is nearly twenty years old now and the difference in years between that movie and this one is roughly the same as the Keaton movie and the 1960s TV show.

Although in their defense, there were sequels to that franchise, so its not so much the gap between the 1st Keaton film and Begins, but the gap between BM&R and Begins, which is much smaller.

That franchise is a lot fresher in peoples minds plus the West Batman was a tv series and for some reason, people seem to happily accept that tv and movies are different.

You'd also have to say, the similarities between the costume in the 89 flick and the 05 flick, will always make it seem like its part of the same canon!

I agree though, anyone who cannot understand the simplicity of "its a new start", is just an idiot.
Do they think that the remake of the Longest yard is a sequel?
