Yeah, it wasn't graphic, but it was still rape -- if I recall, she had to be penetrated for her poison-snatch to kill the rapist. Yeah, but he kissed her mouth and when they were referring back to how the poisin got into his system, they flashed back to the kiss. Hmmm, maybe I chose to see it as "attempted" and not completed. Eh, either way, its the whole rape/attempted rape/all women must be naked at some point in the adult anime that I've seen that annoys me. This was still a good movie. though. i didn;t see a rape in ninja scrolls. i thought it was proven by the fact she mentions that her poison has become so deadly that even a kiss can kill now. i believe she said that while speaking to the lead character once when he attempted to kiss her. also why i didn;t think it was too gratuitous. i mean there was a lil more than necessary, but at the same time, he did have to try and get down at least to have gotten a kiss to be poisoned with.

I just watc hed 300 again. I kinda enjoyed it more in the theatre - I think when you see something with other fans (I saw it opening weekend) and they are as into it as you are you enjoy it more...

Dead Alive (aka Braindead). Motherfucker, who hid this movie from me my whole life? Since Evil Dead II was made in '87 and this was '92, I'm positive they either ripped off or made homage to a lot of keen Campbell/Rami scenes / gimmicks (like what the dead mom looked like, the bucket over the camera, the animated lobbed-off hand, etcetera). However, the movie had so much wonderful aside from those, I give it an A+.    "Braindead" is the actual and original title of the film and the title that is used everywhere except for in the United States. Due to conflicts with another film of the same name, the title "Dead Alive" was used instead.

 This is next up on netflix. The 3rd Rock kid has turned out to be a solid actor, and not some child star has been. He did a film called Brick that was excellent and his performance was stellar in that. I've heard good things about The Lookout and hope he's as good here...

I have the bare-bones edition of the DVD. If there was EVER a movie that needed a Special Edition with commentary tracks, interviews, and other bits of goodness (like me and Knurkel debating whether or not a Michael Jackson type really could beat a Bootsy Collins type in a kung fu battle), it's Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon.
Hell, why that's never been done is beyond me. It's not like the cast has anything better to do.
