Right after he died people tried to resuscitate him, that helped a little.
The Eradicator brought him to the fortress and put him in the Matrix (not that Matrix...) where he absorbed sunlight, and plenty of it. Bigger help there.
Jonathan Kent, near death, fought through heaven and hell to bring Clark's soul back. What a guy.
