Nah, dawg....I'member when Nellie was in Milwuakee back in the day with the fish ties...the only serious player he had was Sidney Moncrief...all he had after that was Paul Mokeski, an old as hell Bob Lanier and Alton Lister.
He had those fools in the playoffs and contending for titles every year...even when Boston and Philly wewe the teames to beat. If you can do it with THAT crew...at that time...then you can coach.

Advice: take some time and check out Ball from back in the day; at least '81-82 thru.
Once you get past the short shorts and shit, the Ball is fierce. At my age, the best era of Ball was 80 thru prolly '87-'88.
Ball was definitely better before Jordan. He may have been the greatest player of all time but, he ruined the game....

at the ripe old age of 26, i think managing to see the nba at all before jordon came into his own is no small feat. i actually remember watching the pistons win (my father is from michigan, so only other team i watched besides the spurs for the most part) i watched bird play, i watched magic, and many other. i remember jordon makin it into the playoffs to just be sent home packing.
hell, almost 20 years...... but i do watch some older games on espn classic time to time, just to watch the celts, or showtime lakers, or the bad boys.
and thank god the spurs don;t suck balls like golden state....

not sure if u saw the game tonight tim, but man that was a great game the spurs proved to be champions just for the way they kept answering back everytime the warriors scored a few buckets. I am damn proud of how my boys played though...

missed it.... wish i hadn't now.
been kinda rough to follow all their games livin 6 hours away, even harder since i am so close to dallas. when they are on and i am off it is rare. so if this was on national tv and i missed it, i will not be happy. that said
spurs have really gotten bogged down with the 3 getting injured off n on, but better they lose early and stay fairly healthy in the long run. and stephen jackson always has been damn good. i don't know where he started, but round the '99 championship run, or maybe it was the the '03, he was on the team..... can;t say i was sad to see him go (all the trouble he has been in) but he wasn't easy to replace
