Interesting. I would guess, between this and the emphasis on Ras in the last film (not to mention their ages) that Goyer and Nolan are fans of the O'Neill/Adams bat-era, during which Bruce lived in a penthouse atop the Wayne foundation and had an auxillary batcave in an abandoned subway tunnel below the facility. The trailer makes it look like the temporary 'Bat Cave' is in the basement or something of a Wayne skyscraper with the big elevator in the middle and the Batmobile to the side. I remember that. The Wayne Building had a massive tree in the middle of it. It was about the time Lucius Fox was introduced. Its just occurred to me that the appearance of the Joker means the last movie was a reboot, not a prequel. For those keeping score.

Ok, it's probably been taken off already, but my brother in law said that a second trailer had been leaked yesterday that had the joker calling batman out into the street. I've looked, but I can't find it and the link he had to it is no longer working...

And why would your dad be dumb enough to expect Nicholson, now in his 70's, to be the main villain in an action movie? And how could he possible expect it to fit with the 1989 movie when the Joker was created and killed in that movie?

My wifes brother was able to come up with the good once more.
I have one of the movie posters. This one is Batman with his back to the camera looking out a penthouse window to the Gotham skyline.
Awesome theatre lobby poster. It's supposed to be mounted on a lighted frame to make the skyline lights, light up.
so far I haven't seen it online so I'm not sure if it's been released as of yet.

Actor Mark Hamill, loved by fans for many things including voicing The Joker on the 'Batman' animated series, has praise for the upcoming 'Dark Knight' movie. He told MTV Movies Blog that he likes what he sees in Heath Ledger's portrayal of the clown prince of crime.

Nicholson's Joker was over rated. Nicholson was basically playing an amped up homicidal version of himself, not the Joker.
And Cesar Romero always looked weird with that "hidden" mustache.

No, seriously, this movie looks terrible. I'm not even gonna waste my life on a script this time around. Well, i'm hoping we get a better trailer. Admittedly, the current one is a tad underwhelming. Aside from seeing the great cast, there's not much happening. It looks as if the idea was to just show the joker and we're supposed to get all geekified over that.

Yes, there's that as well. The having him stand in the middle of the street with a low-brow and glower was obviously meant to give the trailer an epic feel.
My main problem is how it's obviously gonna be another big morality/philosophy jig. In the original one, they're going on and on about symbols and identity and principles of action--And then fucking up their own moral standards with the ending. Now we hear Alfred giving lectures on basically the same kind of topics and how he's saying Bruce Wayne is obligated to protect Gotham after its apparently developed a dependence on him (utter bullshit).
The only thing I can give credit to Nolan for is his consistency. He knew from the very beginning that these storylines would never fly with the original Batman character since he had a dual identity. Now, with his strictly Bruce Wayne in a Batsuit persona, this little breakdown he's going to have fits Wayne's MO perfectly since the real Batman would be too driven to suffer such a handicap.
To top it off, the Joker isn't choosing to smile and laugh like his definitive character does. His face just got fucked up that way and so he runs along with it; he's not really insane...That is to say, he's not really super-sane. At least Burton had Nicholson lose it after developing his skin-condition.

you gotta remember that this is Batman at the Begining of his career. He is going to have some doubts through the hard times at the begining....it's not until he gets older that he becomes so driven.
