its mostly Flash. shouldn't need a new intall or anything (and if you did, it Flash typically tells you that before you do anything)

if you run into problems uploading an image during a game creation process, it could be a few issues:

1) your net connection
2) file type -- images have to be jpg, gif, or png. no bmps or crazy shit.
3) file name -- if there's a buncha foreign-speak stuff in the file name, like &s or % or whatever, that can be an issue (not always)

otherwise, all should be golden.
