now, you can earn points by creating games, playing games, making items, getting high scores, etc. user medals are stored on their profile pages, and game madels are stored on the game pages.
they are there for just simple categories for now, but eventually we'll add thousands of different types (sorta like the xbox live reward system)
each medal is worth a different point amount.
the more medals you have, the more points you have -- and the more points you have, the more things you'll be able to do on the site. eventually, that'll mean more access to games, more controls over things, deeper levels of customization, etc.

if you get in the top 3 scores of any game (that has at least 10 people with scores in the game) you get a medal. thats the easiest way to start out.

well, you'll get a PM on the message board (or at least you will as of tomorrow). eventually, that PM will be accessible from the header area on any page.
you may, or may not, get an email to indicate that you have a PM. thats up to your spam filter and our not-yet-so-great email server.
the earned medals themselves, however, will show up the next time you access either that game page or your profile page. plus, the latest medals will be listed on the homepage.
