When I watched the first 5 minutes, I was afraid it was gonna degenerate into modern Simpsonian level of retardation. The jokes were all coming out of people's asses and ten random things were happening every minute. Luckily though, it thinned out and the story turned out spectacular. They just made everything fit into place so well. The jokes weren't as 'logical fallacy' and 'turn-of-phrase' as you'd expect from a Futurama episode, but since they had 90 minutes to tell the story, they let everything move pretty smoothly with the more satirical stuff.
I was half expecting them to use an anti-paradox repairing time machine to fix everything seeing as how that would override any parallel history...But that's all armchair speculation I s'pose.
Anyway, the comedy was great, but the story itself was even better.
I gotta wonder if they included that 2000 ballot joke just for Gore's sake though. It's not usually their style to go political. But even if the issue itself is mixed, it was still ironically funny to the story itself.
