At this point I'll believe it when I see it. This is the third day in a row that the press has said his resignation is imminent. Supposedly, his lawyers are working on a plea deal under which he'll resign to avoid jail time.
This whole thing is really stunning. This morning on the radio they interviewed both the local GOP chair and the local Democrat chair. The Democrat, if anything was more critical of Spitzer than her Republican counterpart. She was going on about how even his own party "never liked" him, that they thought he was a bully, etc. Real "rat deserting the ship" sort of talk.
