So you forgive the negative attributes of Bill Clinton for sexually soliciting the help (to the point of not seeing them as a negative), but you won't forgive Hillary Clinton (or Spitzer for that matter) for enlisting the support of someone who sexually solicits a prostitute.
Okay. Makes perfect sense.
I forgive anyone that is truly repentant. That is the Christian way. The first step for Spitzer is to find the forgiveness of his wife and repair his marriage. Usually when I hear someone make a speech after allegations are brought, it makes me think they're just sorry they were caught and not truly sorry. Time though has a way of telling the truth of the matter. It doesn't make me want to instantly see his resignation just on the cheating alone. Now if he used public funds or resources to conduct the sexcapades, then that is another matter entirely and he should resign ASAP. But again, it speaks to his judgement more than his character IMO, although that too plays a part..
If you love your wife and your family you resign immediately. You just disgraced her on national TV. The sooner you resign the sooner the story goes away. End of story.
