I just got back from seeing it for the first time.

I went to a 3:30 pm matinee, thinking the theater wouldn't have that many people in it.... and it turned out it was probably 3/4 full by the time the film started. Wow. No doubt in my mind this movie is going to CONTINUE breaking records.

I won't rehash all the well-deserved love for the film that everyone here who's already seen has put forth. Great cast, great special effects, great story.

If I had to mention the one moment that gave me the geekgasm it was the scene at the end with the 'bat sonar' where they finally gave Batman opaque eye lenses! That was so FUCKING cool.

If I had one complaint, I thought they could have ditched the "blackmail subplot, and cut the film.

Finally a great big shout out to Aaron Eckert who, with all due respect to the rest of the cast, positively owned as Harvey. I knew what was going to happen to his character. Hell, I've know for approximately 35 years. But Eckert's work as Harvey was so good, I kind of sort of didn't WANT it to happen.

Why that guy isn't a bigger star is beyond me.
