Nolan and his brother actually did some comic book reading in writing the script i only knew the brother was involved after hearing an interview with bale regarding the movie. what was his actual role? does he get a credited title (i dont want to look it up) The changing Joker origins concept that Moore introduced in the Killing Joke. i also don't want to look this up, but i think the multiple origins were better told in mad love -- i actually never liked the part of killing joke where they went so detailed into the joker's "supposed" red hood origin. still, i love how they were simply able to "get away" with the joker having no definitive origin or back story or even an acid dip. he just was, and no one had a problem with it. awesome.

He was credited as co-writer.

i also don't want to look this up, but i think the multiple origins were better told in mad love -- i actually never liked the part of killing joke where they went so detailed into the joker's "supposed" red hood origin. Joker says at the end, during the candid moment, that he actually isn't sure what happened... sometimes he rememebers it one way, sometimes it's another. In Mad Love (which I read for the first time a couple of weeks ago) he doesn't actually talk about his origin, he simply talks about his father. Still, I guess that could have influenced the first origin he tells in the movie...

he tells harley a story, but then batman spoilers it (spoilers!) by telling harley that the joker has told a million different versions, naming the one she heard and two other examples

I hate to say it, but I think Jolie would be better than any of those choices. You have no taste!

i also don't want to look this up, but i think the multiple origins were better told in mad love -- i actually never liked the part of killing joke where they went so detailed into the joker's "supposed" red hood origin. I didn't like the idea that the Joker had an origin either, but the bit that Mxy talked about where the Joker admits that the story changes all the time makes it work. The way I view the whole story is that the Joker knows Batman is Bruce Wayne and has probably figured out that it was the death of Wayne's parents that started the transformation into Batman. The Joker, considering himself and Batman linked, creates a similar story of 'one bad day' in an attempt to solidify that connection.

Pro's wife told me the story about how he camped out in front of the movie theater to get tickets to the Catwoman midnight showing when it opened even though the theater management kept telling him there wasn't one.

Yeah, Pro. Watch some old Doctor Who and calm the fuck down. You're beginning to sound like an Insurgent.

I hate to say it, but I think Jolie would be better than any of those choices. You have no taste! Don't get me wrong. They're all varying degrees of hotness, and some are good, if not better, actresses than Jolie. But, with the possible exception of Theron, none of them say "Catwoman" to me. Ricci, Dushku, Hathaway and Johannson all seem too young to me. Connolly has never, from what I've seen, ever been able to play anything but the girl next door (even if that girl's strung out on heroin and going ass to ass). I don't think Larter, Jovovich or Lily are very good actresses (meaning they probably have Pro's vote). So that leaves, basically, Theron. However, I think she has most of the same baggage that Jolie has. Or, you can listen to Pro and bring back Halle Berry for a TnA tour-de-force and destroy the franchise all over again.

I don't think Larter, Jovovich or Lily are very good actresses (meaning they probably have Pro's vote). Which is exactly what I said. Congratulations Generic Republican Mouthpiece. You have served your function. Or, you can listen to Pro and bring back Halle Berry for a TnA tour-de-force and destroy the franchise all over again. Why not add Clooney and Schumacher, too? I mean, if you're going to go all 6th Grade on me, why stop at the most ridiculous possibility? Meanwhile, how about Kate Blanchette or Helena Bonham Carter? What about the fat chick from Misery? They're all "acclaimed" actresses, so they must fit exactly what you're talking about, right?

Yeah, Pro. Watch some old Doctor Who and calm the fuck down. At what point was I anything but calm? You're beginning to sound like an Insurgent. What, you mean like creating completely original assumptions that you know for a fact to be wrong, but try and make plausible anyway? I'll remind you of that the next time you disagree with someone...
